How does one define abundance? At the surface many people think of what one owns. If that is the case then the rich should be the happiest people in the world! In reality, currency of abundance is gratitude and its by-product is joy. Fear and worry are “stop payment” on feeling abundant and experiencing joy.
Joy can be experienced in many forms. Be it joy of walking on a quiet beach, being with friends and family, enjoying a good food or helping others. No matter how materially abundant you are, at the end, in my opinion, what matters the most, is about how much joy you have experienced and how much joy you have created and shared with others.
I believe we all can feel more abundant today without acquiring anything extra. It is all about our consciousness and our perspective. Sometimes less is more.
Look around yourself and make a list of what you have and what you are trying to protect. Ask the following questions:
- Do those items bring you joy?
- Are you consciously grateful for them emotionally and verbally?
- Can you experience more joy from them? How?
- If not, why you are hanging on to them or trying to have more of them?
Most seek abundance in form of money and material things.
Are you aware of what you have?
Do you appreciate what you have?
Are you aware of what brings you real joy?
Are you aware of what takes away your joy?
What is point of eating expensive food if you do not enjoy it?
What is point of having an expensive house if there is hardly a laughter or appreciation in it?
What is point of having something valuable if all your focus is on protecting it than enjoying it?
What is the point of holding on to a picture that we have not looked at for twenty years?
What is the point of a book that we have not read in ten years and still want to hold on to?
Enjoy the abundance you already have!
Appreciate the people who love you!
Say “I love you”, “I appreciate you”, “I am grateful” often.
Do not delay celebrating what you already have!
Abundance is richness in experiencing love, peace, joy and happiness.
Abundance is appreciating what is.
